A three-season collaboration that turns LED screens into pure adrenaline.

For the past three NBA seasons, Doozy Crew has been the creative force behind the motion graphics lighting up Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Pistons. From pre-game intros to interactive fan cams, these animations do more than decorate the venue; they define the game-day experience.

With over 45 Daktronics LED displays scattered across the arena, each with its own resolution, aspect ratio, and screen specs, this isn’t your average animation project. It’s a high-speed, high-volume, high-impact collaboration and Doozy Crew is at the center of it all.

Designing for the Energy of the Game

Every animation starts with the Detroit Pistons’ brand style guide, but where it goes from there is where the magic happens. Doozy Crew designs every piece to reflect not just the brand, but the energy, swagger, and emotion of the fanbase and the team itself.

The animations aren’t just for show, they help guide the crowd through the full arc of the game. From player intros to timeouts, fan cams to halftime hype, Doozy Crew’s graphics are part of what makes Pistons games feel bigger than life.

Motion Graphics at Arena Scale

Using Adobe After Effects, plus plugins like Trapcode Particular, the team begins every project by designing for the main center-hung scoreboard. From there, each animation is reworked and re-rendered to fit the specific dimensions, resolutions, and framerates of over 45 LED displays throughout the arena.

Over the course of three seasons, Doozy Crew has delivered:

  • 70+ unique motion graphics packages
  • 500+ individual video renders
  • Custom formatting for every screen in the arena

The result? A fully synchronized visual environment where no matter where you’re seated, the graphics match the moment.
