Product films, brand stories, trade shows and recruiting, filmed on real plant floors with crews that know the rules. Autonomous welding for Path Robotics, a knife maker's story for Rick Hinderer, sixteen years of launches for YKK AP.

Trusted by teams at

This page is for marketing, sales and HR teams at manufacturers, fabricators and industrial technology companies. You make something real, in a building most of your customers will never visit, and you need video that shows the product working, the people who build it and the reasons to buy, apply or invest. We have filmed robotic welding cells, CNC floors, a custom fabrication shop and finished buildings for the manufacturer whose products are in them, and cut it for sales decks, trade shows, websites and recruiting.

Films for every part of a manufacturer.

Sixteen years, one crew.

YKK AP makes windows, doors, curtain wall and storefront systems and sells them to architects, glaziers and builders. We have made its films since 2010: product launches, comedy spots, case-study featurettes and a product-animation library. That is the shape of a long manufacturing relationship, and it is what we would build with you.

How a program is scoped

A set number of films a year, each a defined deliverable with its own fixed quote. A product film, a trade-show recap, a recruiting film and a customer story make a typical year. The crew stays the same, the look stays the same and the footage library grows with every shoot.

Real products, real floors.

Four manufacturers and makers, from a robotics startup to a sixteen-year client, each filmed where the work happens.
01
Path Robotics

A year of films for an autonomous welding company

A product film, a trade-show recap, a warehouse drone fly-through and sales cuts for a Columbus maker of AI-driven welding robots, produced across a year of recurring work.

Path Robotics builds welding cells that scan a part, plan the weld and run it without a programmer. Over a year we filmed inside the cells and across the plant: a one-minute product film that shows the see, understand and weld sequence as it happens; a recap of the company's booth, demos and interviews at Automate 2022 in Detroit; and a drone fly-through of the manufacturing facility, flown indoors past the AW2 and AW3 lines. Every piece shares one look, so the sales team can send any of them and they read as one company.

Rick Hinderer Knives

Rick's Story and a Cinema Robot customization film

A brand story for an American knife maker, from a turkey-coop workshop to CNC, plus a customization film built on repeatable robot camera moves and match cuts.

Rick's Story follows Rick Hinderer from the late-1980s art knives he forged in a turkey coop to the overbuilt tools his shop machines today, with the collaborations with KA-BAR and Origin USA. For the customization film we programmed our Cinema Robot to repeat the same move while the crew swapped scales, clips and hardware in exactly the same position, so the finished film cuts between accessory options on a single matched frame. It is the clearest example we have of motion control doing something a hand-held camera cannot. Delivered in three weeks with a :30 commercial.

YKK AP

Launches and case studies since 2010

Sixteen years of films for a manufacturer of windows, doors, curtain wall and storefront systems, from a launch campaign shot in under a month to a case-study featurette at Tulane University.

For the cove.tool integration launch we pitched a comedy: two architects finish their product specs instantly and have far too much free time. Concepted, cast, shot in one day in Atlanta and delivered in under a month. For the Commons at Tulane University we interviewed the architect, the glazing contractor and YKK AP's own team on site in New Orleans, filmed the building by day and at dusk, and added 3D animation of the curtain wall and window systems so viewers could see the product behind the glass. Earlier campaigns include four architect-comedy spots shot in a single day.

Edgework Creative

Brand anthem for a custom fabrication shop

A brand anthem for a Columbus shop that builds custom furniture, millwork and metalwork: the makers at the saw, the sander and the plasma cutter, and the pieces in the rooms they were built for.

Edgework builds one-off tables, fixtures and millwork for homes, offices, restaurants and hospitality spaces. The anthem moves from the shop floor to the finished piece in place, so a prospective client sees the craft and the result in under two minutes. It is the same approach we take with any maker: let the people and the process carry the brand, and give the finished product the last word.

How we work.

Six steps, built around your production schedule and your safety and confidentiality rules. One fixed-fee quote per deliverable, two rounds of revisions, on deadline.
1

Discovery

Your products, audiences and calendar: the launches, shows and hiring pushes the films need to land for.

2

Treatment

A short written plan per film with the story, the shots and what we need from your floor, for your approval.

3

Site plan and safety

A walk-through with your EHS or plant lead: PPE, restricted zones, escorts, what can and cannot be shown.

4

Production

A crew sized to the floor, scheduled around shifts and changeovers. Motion control and aerials when the shot calls for them.

5

Edit and review

Review links with time-coded notes. Two rounds of consolidated revisions, with your approvals on anything proprietary.

6

Finish and deliver

Color, sound mix, captions and cutdowns for web, social, sales decks and the show floor.

We know the rules.

A production line is not a set. We plan every shoot around your safety program, your production schedule and what you are allowed to show.

Safety first

Our crew wears the PPE your floor requires, stays out of restricted zones and works with an escort when you want one. We have filmed next to live welding cells, CNC mills and a plasma cutter.

Confidentiality

We sign your NDA, confirm what is proprietary before we roll, and send every cut for approval before anything is published. Footage stays on our systems until you say otherwise.

A footprint that fits

A compact crew that moves around a running line when that is what the day needs, a full crew with lighting and motion control when a launch film does.

Built around the schedule

Shots are planned around shifts, changeovers and show dates so the line keeps running and the recap is ready the week after the show.

Gear and footage.

CamerasCinema cameras, including the ARRI Alexa 35 and RED: the same tools used on commercials and features, with macro and high-speed options for product detail.
Cinema RobotMotion-control camera rigs for repeatable moves, match cuts and product shots no hand-held camera can hold. Two portable rigs, one of them fly-able.
AerialDrone footage indoors and out, flown by an FAA-certified pilot, including plant and warehouse fly-throughs.
Lighting and soundA lighting, grip and sound package sized to the floor, from a run-and-gun kit beside a running line to a full package on a launch film.
PostEditing, motion graphics, 3D product animation, color and sound, led by our team.
AccessibilityClosed-caption files for every film, so your team can meet its accessibility standards on any platform.

Planned to stretch

With advance planning, one shoot day can cover more than one film, which saves on crew and travel. Over a continuing relationship, every shoot adds to a footage library your team can pull from for sales, social and recruiting all year.

Your footage

Every project uses the same folder structure, with footage organized by date and backed up during production. Finished films and source footage are delivered by cloud transfer.

Rights and usage

Your company owns the finished films, source footage and project files, and can reuse them for its own marketing, sales and recruiting with no added fees. Licensed music, stock and voiceover follow their own license terms.

The leads on every film.

Our core team leads every project, from the first idea to the final cut. When a shoot calls for more hands, we scale up with production support that works under our direction, in the plant or on the road.

What a first year could look like.

An example only. The real plan is built around your launches, show calendar and hiring needs.
1

Quarter 1

Discovery, one shared look and a library shoot on the floor. A brand story or product film to lead the website.

2

Quarter 2

A trade-show recap, cut the week after the show. Product demos for the sales team.

3

Quarter 3

A recruiting film told by your own people. Social cutdowns from the year's footage.

4

Quarter 4

A customer story filmed where your product ended up. A year-in-review cut for the company meeting.

Three ways to work together.

Everything is scoped per deliverable, so you always know what you're getting. We quote fixed-fee after the first call, in a form you can take to a leadership team.

Common questions, quick answers.

The questions we hear first from marketing and plant teams.

Can you film on a running production line?

Yes. We walk the floor with your EHS or plant lead first, follow your PPE and restricted-zone rules, and plan shots around shifts and changeovers so the line keeps running. When a shot needs a pause, we schedule it with you in advance.

How do you handle proprietary processes and NDAs?

We sign your NDA before the first visit, confirm what is proprietary before we roll, and send every cut for approval before anything is published. Nothing you flag leaves the edit.

What does a cinema robot do for a product film?

It repeats the same camera move exactly, every time. For Rick Hinderer Knives that let us swap scales, clips and hardware in the same position and cut between options on a single matched frame, something no hand-held camera can hold. It also gives us precise macro moves along a blade, a weld or a part.

Can you turn a trade-show recap around quickly?

Yes. For Path Robotics at Automate 2022 we filmed the booth, demos, interviews and the show floor, and the recap is built to be sent the week after the show. We can also deliver short social cuts during the show when that is planned in advance.

Do you travel to our plants and job sites?

Yes. Columbus is home base, and most of our work is elsewhere. For YKK AP we have filmed in Atlanta and New Orleans; Path Robotics took us to Automate in Detroit. Travel rolls into the fixed quote.

Who owns the footage?

You do. Your company owns the finished films, the source footage and the project files, and can reuse them for its own marketing, sales and recruiting with no added fees. Licensed music, stock and voiceover follow their own license terms.

How long does a product film take?

Most single films deliver in three to six weeks from the shoot, including two rounds of consolidated revisions. Rick Hinderer Knives delivered in three weeks; the YKK AP cove.tool launch went from concept to delivery in under a month. Launches and programs are scheduled as a package so delivery matches your show or launch date.

Let's show what you make.

Tell us what's coming up: a product launch, a trade show, a new line or a hiring push. We'll come back with a plan and a quote for the first set of films.
