Columbus brand film production — Doozy Crew, Columbus, Ohio

A brand film is the format that does the heavy lifting when you need a video to do more than describe a product. It defines what your brand stands for. It captures the voice and texture of the people behind it. And on the highest-stakes touchpoints — investor decks, homepage hero spots, agency new-business pitches, broadcast campaigns — it earns trust in a way a product video can't.

We've made brand films for Columbus-area teams across categories: B2B (YKK AP architectural systems), advocacy (Ohio Chamber of Commerce's Good for Life campaign), sports + culture (Boss Money featuring Columbus Crew captain Jonathan Mensah), hospitality (multi-year partner of JW Marriott Marco Island), and nonprofits (Lifeline Christian Mission's global impact series across five countries).

The thread across all of them: a clear story, cinematic visuals, and one crew handling everything from creative direction through final color and sound. No outsourced post, no creative-then-handoff, no 'we'll fix it in delivery.' One team, end to end.

Columbus brands are punching above their weight. The region's B2B, hospitality, sports, and higher-ed sectors compete with markets twice its size, and the bar for content has caught up. Architects need to win projects against Chicago firms. Hotels need to drive bookings against international flag competitors. Universities need to inspire donors against national peer institutions. A polished brand film is one of the few formats that can carry that weight.

Working with a Columbus production company means faster pre-pro, fewer travel costs, easier in-person scouts, and a crew that already knows the city's locations, talent pool, and post-production resources. We've shot at OSU, Lower.com Field, Ohio Statehouse, the National Veterans Memorial, Smale Riverfront, and dozens of corporate campuses across central Ohio.

How we work.

A four-step process built for clarity, speed, and one fixed-fee quote.
01

Pre-interview

Every brand film starts with a deep pre-interview conversation. We learn the business, the audience, the brand voice, and — most importantly — the actual story worth telling. Most of our scripts get written after this call.

02

Script + treatment

We write the voiceover, build the shotlist, draft a visual treatment, and align on tone before a single frame is shot. You sign off on every part before we book talent or crew.

03

Production

One to three shoot days for most brand films. Cinema-grade cameras (ARRI Alexa Mini, Sony Venice), proper lighting, full sound capture, drone aerials when the location calls for it, and a lean crew that moves fast.

04

Post-production

Editing, color grading in DaVinci Resolve, sound design, music licensing, motion graphics, and platform-specific cutdowns — all in-house. Two rounds of revisions standard.

  • Master brand film (typically 60–180 seconds)
  • Platform cutdowns (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) for paid social, web, and trade-show use
  • :15 / :30 / :60 broadcast or pre-roll variants when needed
  • Licensed music — you own the final film outright
  • Raw footage delivery at the end of the project if requested
  • Source files available for future edits at cost

Recent brand film production work.

Real projects where this work made the difference.

Most full-service brand films land between $25K and $80K depending on scope, talent, locations, and number of cutdowns. We quote everything fixed-fee after the kickoff call so there are no mid-project surprises. Smaller, focused projects (single shoot day, no travel, fewer deliverables) are possible when the fit is right.

Common questions, quick answers.

The questions we hear most about columbus brand film production.

What's the difference between a brand film and a commercial?

A commercial sells. A brand film positions. Commercials are short, conversion-focused, and built around a product or offer. Brand films are usually 60–180 seconds, story-driven, and built to make a viewer feel something about your brand — which pays off downstream in trust, recall, and willingness to engage with your other marketing. Most great brands run both.

How long does a Columbus brand film typically take to produce?

Four to eight weeks end-to-end for most projects. Pre-production runs one to two weeks (script, casting, location scouts), the shoot itself is one to three days, and post takes two to four weeks. We've done rush jobs in under three weeks when the deadline demanded it.

Do you handle scripting and creative direction, or do we bring the script?

Both. Most clients hire us to write the script after we conduct pre-interviews with the subject — that produces a more authentic, less rehearsed voiceover. But if you have an agency partner driving the creative, we plug in as the production-and-post arm and execute their script.

Can you shoot outside of Columbus?

Constantly. Recent travel productions include Detroit, Marco Island, Atlanta, Haiti, Honduras, and Ghana. Travel costs roll into the fixed quote — no hidden fees.

How do you make sure the final film actually matches our brand?

We treat brand alignment as a deliverable, not a hope. Before we shoot, we review your brand guidelines, marketing positioning, recent campaigns, and competitor work. Every visual choice — lighting, color, pace, music — gets calibrated to fit the existing brand. Two rounds of revisions are standard.

Do you work with agencies, or only directly with brands?

Both. We white-label production for agencies regularly. You stay in front of the client; we execute behind the scenes.
