Columbus drone video production with altitude — and intent.
FAA-certified drone pilots, cinema-grade aerial cameras, and a flight-planning process built for cinematic quality, not just establishing shots.
Drone video gives a brand its first impression. The way a property reveals itself, the way a building anchors in its environment, the way a story opens — aerial cinematography sets the visual stakes higher than any ground-level camera can.
Doozy Crew has been flying drones for commercial productions since the technology matured into a serious cinematic tool. We operate cinema-capable DJI Inspire 2 systems for high-end shoots and smaller platforms for tighter spaces and complex tracking shots. All of our drone operators are FAA Part 107 certified.
We've used drone aerials on resort campaigns for JW Marriott Marco Island, sports productions for the Columbus Crew, brand films for YKK AP, and documentary work across five countries. The drone isn't the story — it's a tool that opens a scene, anchors a brand in its environment, or follows action no other camera can.
Central Ohio's real estate, hospitality, and corporate campus markets are competitive enough that aerial footage has shifted from luxury to baseline expectation. Listings without drone footage convert worse. Resort and venue marketing without aerials feels dated. Corporate brand films without aerial establishing shots read as small.
Working with a Columbus drone video production company means same-day pre-flight planning, faster location coordination with local authorities when permits are needed, and a pilot who already knows the airspace restrictions around John Glenn International, Bolton Field, and the dozens of central Ohio controlled-airspace zones that affect commercial flights.
How we work.
Flight plan + permits
Before we fly, we review the location, identify airspace classifications, file LAANC authorizations where required, and plan flight paths around safety, legality, and the shots you actually need. For controlled airspace we coordinate with ATC directly.
Scout + safety check
On shoot day, we scout the location for visual obstructions, GPS interference, and ground hazards. Two-person operation standard for any complex shoot — one pilot, one camera operator on the gimbal.
Flight + capture
Multiple altitudes, multiple lens choices, smooth dolly-style passes, dynamic tracking shots, and establishing wide shots. We capture more coverage than you'll use so the editor has options.
Delivery
Color-graded aerial clips delivered as standalone footage, or integrated directly into a full brand film, commercial, or real estate listing edit.
- Color-graded 4K aerial clips ready for edit
- Multiple altitudes and angles per location
- Smooth tracking shots, reveal moves, and establishing wides
- FAA Part 107 documentation for commercial use
- Raw drone footage at the end of project if requested
- Integration into a full edit when paired with a Doozy Crew production
Recent drone video production work.
Drone-only shoot days in central Ohio typically run $1,500 to $4,500 depending on location complexity, airspace authorization needs, and the number of locations. When drone work is part of a larger Doozy Crew production, the aerial cost rolls into the fixed project quote at a reduced rate. Real estate listings and quick single-location shoots can come in below this range.
Common questions, quick answers.
Are you FAA-certified to fly commercial drone shoots?
Yes. All Doozy Crew drone operators are FAA Part 107 certified, which is required for any commercial drone work in the United States. We carry liability insurance specifically for aerial operations.
Can you fly in restricted airspace around Columbus?
Often, yes — with proper authorization. Most of central Ohio sits in or near controlled airspace governed by John Glenn International (CMH) or other controlled zones. We file LAANC authorizations and coordinate with ATC where needed. Some locations are no-fly zones (over crowds at events, near hospitals, in restricted federal airspace) and we won't fly in those.
What kind of drone camera do you use?
Our primary cinema drone is the DJI Inspire 2 with X7 camera — full 6K capture, professional log color, interchangeable lenses. For smaller spaces and tracking shots, we use platforms like the DJI Mavic 3 Cine. Camera selection depends on shoot requirements.
Do you offer drone-only shoots, or only as part of a larger production?
Both. Drone-only shoots for real estate listings, single-location event coverage, and brand B-roll are common. Most of our drone work is part of a larger Doozy Crew brand film or commercial production where aerials integrate into a full story.
Can you travel for drone shoots outside central Ohio?
Yes. We travel regularly for production work — Marco Island, Atlanta, Detroit, and internationally. Travel costs roll into the project quote.
Got a project worth making?
15 minutes is enough to know if we're a fit. No deck, no slides.
