A gimbal stabilizes a handheld camera so the operator's movement feels smooth. A Cinema Robot executes a pre-programmed move with no operator at all — the same path, speed, and timing on every take, accurate to the frame. Cinema Robot earns its rate when the shot needs frame-accurate repeatability — product reveals, food and beverage commercials, watch and jewelry work, tabletop comparisons, before-and-after visualizations, and motion-control composites where multiple elements need to be shot against the same camera move and combined in post. For maximum uptime and frame-accurate move programming, we recommend booking the rig with our tech on set — they know the systems and can program complex moves quickly. If you'd rather self-operate to stretch budget, we'll walk your team through the rig before the shoot.

Cinema Robot productions are quoted per project after a scoping conversation, because rig time, programming complexity, additional crew, and post-production all vary. Most Cinema Robot projects fall into the same $15K-$40K range as our other full-service productions, with simpler product shoots possible at the lower end and motion-control composite work landing higher. We provide a fixed-fee quote after the kickoff call.

Product cinematography (knives, electronics, packaged goods), food and beverage commercials, jewelry and watches, before-and-after comparisons, scientific visualization, automotive details, and any tabletop work where the camera move is part of the brand. Yes — both of our Cinema Robot systems are portable, and one is small enough to fly with as luggage. On-location motion control work is something we actively prefer when the scope calls for it; the rig isn't a studio-bound piece of equipment. Travel and rigging costs roll into the project quote, not billed separately after the fact.
